Coronation Celebrations

Posted: 19th May 2023

Weston Green School marked the momentous celebration of the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla with a variety of royal-themed activities last Friday. The youngest children learned about the life and legacy of the oldest and newest monarchs in an interactive dramatics workshop, while the Year 6 children hosted parlour games and traditional races for Years 3-5.

The school hall showcased a remarkable Royal Box art exhibition featuring the creative work of the pupils and baked goods with a royal theme for the baking competition. The celebration culminated with a royal afternoon tea party of scones, brownies and strawberries and cream for the parents and the local community.

Throughout the afternoon, the guests were entertained by regal musical performances sung by the children. It was a memorable day of honouring and appreciating the monarchy.
