“ How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” AA Milne
As I bid farewell to all our children, families and staff this week, I am feeling so fortunate to have had this opportunity. I have simply had the best job in the best school, and my time here has been a shining light in my career in education.
I am incredibly proud of all we have achieved together over the last 6 years. WGS is strong and unique in its identity and in the incredible experiences it offers all of its children from 2-11. Of equal merit is our long standing success in preparing children for an amazing selection of 11+ schools. We remain supremely proud that the strengths of WGS were recognised in the “Excellent” award achieved in our latest ISI inspection too, a defining moment for us.
But it is the people and colleagues that I will miss most. The incredible staff team of specialists and educators who are passionate in their fields and instinctively understand how to get the very best from every child, both personally and academically. They are simply the most amazing team I have been fortunate to work with and a true strength of our school.
Recruiting on to this team has been a hugely important part of my role, to obtain the best educators, which also fit well within Weston Green and all it stands for. In this way the very special ethos of the school is sustained.
I will certainly miss this place, with all its heart, warmth, and wonderful atmosphere. It is a very special place to work. The time is right for me personally and professionally to discover new trails, and make new adventures and I am excited for this!
“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, then life will reward you with a new hello” Paulo Coelho
I am looking forward to seeing what’s next but I will be very sorry to say goodbye to the entire family of Weston Green, and I can’t thank you all enough for the constant support you have given. It is the most wonderful and special place and I will miss every child, family and staff member greatly, as well as the role that I have loved.
Thank you
