Weston Green School Families Shine at Surbiton Junior Parkrun
A Vibrant Community Event
We were delighted to welcome families from Weston Green School who recently embraced the spirit of community and fitness at the Surbiton Junior Parkrun event. The event, held at the scenic Surbiton Parkrun course, featuring a 2km run tailored for children and families, making it an ideal outing for all ages. This initiative, organised by Mrs Scallan and Mrs Wilson, showcased our school’s commitment to encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among students and their families.
Participation and Enthusiasm
The event was a resounding success, with numerous Weston Green children proudly sporting their school sport kits. Parents had the option to run alongside their children or cheer from the sidelines, ensuring that everyone could partake in the enjoyment. The course’s visibility and safety features allowed parents to keep a close watch on their children while enjoying the morning’s exercise.
A Community Effort
The park run welcomed not just our pupils, but also alumni, siblings, grandparents, and other enthusiastic participants! The inclusive atmosphere highlighted the importance of communal exercise and family bonding. The morning was filled with energy, smiles, and a sense of achievement as families crossed the finish line together.
Next Event
This event underscores Weston Green School’s ongoing support for Parkrun and similar community activities. It provides a wonderful opportunity for families to engage in physical activity, embrace healthy habits, and enjoy quality time together. We look forward to attending this inclusive event again in the Autumn, further strengthening our community spirit.
