Viking Day

Posted: 27th February 2025

This week, Year 4 at Weston Green School were transported back in time as we hosted an action-packed Viking Day! The children were thrilled to welcome Ash the Viking from Marvellous History, who brought the Viking era to life with immersive storytelling, hands-on artefacts, and exciting battle demonstrations.

Bringing Viking History to Life

The day was filled with interactive learning experiences, allowing children to step into the shoes of Viking warriors and explorers. Ash the Viking captivated everyone with fascinating tales of Norse mythology, legendary raids, and the daily lives of Viking families. Students had the chance to handle authentic artefacts, including weapons, shields, and helmets, gaining a deeper understanding of Viking craftsmanship and traditions.

Hands-On Learning and Battle Demonstrations

One of the most exhilarating parts of the day was the battle demonstrations, where children learned about Viking combat techniques, battle formations, and the importance of teamwork. Through engaging role-play, they experienced the strength and strategy that made the Vikings such formidable warriors.

A Day to Remember

Our Viking Day was an unforgettable experience, sparking curiosity and excitement about this fascinating historical period. Events like these help bring history to life, making learning both meaningful and fun for our pupils. A huge thank you to Marvellous History for an incredible day of adventure and discovery!
