Celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee

Pupils and staff at Weston Green enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee just before half term.

Everyone dressed in red, white and blue, and there were some regal gowns too.  Our Parent Association laid on a fabulous array of fun themed  events including flag making, crown decorating, photo booth, face painting and ‘pin the crown on the queen’. There was even a treasure hunt with facts about the Queen.

With warm, sunny weather, we all ate a delicious royal banquet style lunch outside sitting together at long tables with paper table cloths which the children decorated with their own jubilee themed designs.  For dessert we enjoyed cakes and the children were very excited to see an ice cream van pull up outside.  They each chose a tasty cold treat.  Parents were invited to join in the celebrations after school with cakes, music and Pimms (for the adults only of course!)

Congratulations to her Majesty HRH Queen Elizabeth II on her 70 year reign and we hope she had as much fun marking this momentous occasion as we did!
