Science Museum trip for Year 2

Posted: 22nd June 2022

Year 2 became trainee astronauts last week, when we visited the Science Museum. During our ‘Destination Space’ workshop we learnt how to convert dirty water into clear, drinkable water using a special filter contraption, we experimented with gravity and also explored the equipment that astronauts need to survive in Space. We then explored the Space exhibition and discovered even more exciting facts about Space and Space travel.

We even found the Apollo 10 command module. In May 1969, this module launched astronauts Thomas Stafford, John Young, and Eugene Cernan, on a lunar orbital mission as a dress rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing in July 1969.

We’re now going to use the information we’ve found out to create fact books all about the planets.
