Hampton Court Palace

Posted: 18th October 2022

On Wednesday 12th October Year 1 visited Hampton Court Palace to support their topic ‘Turrets and Tiaras’ and their learning about Henry VIII. They started the day by visiting the palace’s kitchens and exploring the many rooms in the palace. Children enjoyed looking at the beautiful paintings of some very famous monarchs, visiting The Great Hall and learning about the extravagant parties that were held here. Later on in the day, children took part in a workshop which focused on entertainment during the Tudor times. Children compared parties nowadays to the past and found similarities and differences between the two. The workshop ended with the children learning a famous Tudor dance called ‘The Horse’s Brawl’.

They performed it impeccably and took us all right back to the Tudor times!
