At Weston Green School, one of our key priorities is to instil healthy eating habits among the young minds of our prep school. We recently invited our catering company, CH&Co, to take part in an interactive session aimed at promoting nutritious choices. We started with an engaging assembly followed by a delicious cake tasting session during break time enticing children with innovative colours and flavours!
During the assembly, CH&Co talked about the importance of healthy eating and making smart food choices. The children were eager to listen and asked lots of interesting questions. The staff commented they learned a lot more about vegetables during the session.
The real fun began at break time with a pop-up shop with tantalising cakes. Each child received a token, their golden ticket to a guilt-free indulgence. It was like Willy Wonka’s factory, but with a healthy twist! We had kale and chocolate cake, courgette and parsnip cake, and carrot and parsnip cake on the menu.
The children devoured them, some going back for seconds! Judging by the smiles on their faces, they were totally on board.
Events like these remind us that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring. With a little creativity and a whole lot of flavour, we can turn even the most unlikely ingredients into culinary masterpieces. Thanks to CH&Co for enlightening us on these nutritious and delicious foods. Our taste buds are in for a treat!
