Welcome to Weston Green School, where ambition, curiosity and kindness shape every moment of school life. We are a vibrant and forward-thinking prep school in Thames Ditton where children are inspired to aim high, think deeply and act with kindness.
These values are not just words on a wall – they guide how we teach, how we play and how we grow together. From Little Prep to Year 6, children thrive in small classes led by passionate teachers who know them well and believe in their potential. Weston Green is more than a school – it is a place where children build confidence, find their voice and begin a journey of learning that lasts a lifetime.
We all miss it so much, it was a magical time for both my boys and it’s set them up so well for their continued learning.
Year 7 - former parent
Support for the 11+ exams, the interesting and engaging way the curriculum is taught and challenging the children to think beyond the subject being taught. Support for the child’s personal development and encouragement to be the best version of themselves.
Have been impressed with every area of the school, from the quality of teaching to the time taken to understand the kids. Gets to know their strengths and weaknesses and help them develop personally and academically. Really like the focus on sport, music, drama and the range of clubs, supplementing academic achievement and discovery.
The school creates an inclusive atmosphere where all the children are encouraged to participate and get to know each other, even across year groups. The small class sizes enable staff to provide a greater degree of focus to each child’s learning than in other schools.
It has been an absolute privilege to have been a parent at this school and have my children taught and cared for by such a wonderful group of caring and nurturing people. Everyone of you have contributed to their education and they wouldn’t be the young people they are without your guidance.

Academic Excellence
At Weston Green, we believe in providing a high quality education that prepares children for the next stage of their educational journey into their future schools.
We pride ourselves on our high quality teaching staff who are passionate about their subjects and pedagogy and firmly believe this is what sets our prep school apart.
We welcomed Andrew Hampton to Weston Green today to deliver training based on his "Working with Boys" programme.
A group of staff from Weston Green joined others from @norfolkhouseschool and @@tasis_england_official for an insightful and collaborative session.
Andrew`s training aims to equip teachers with the tools to help promote a school environment in which boys are consistently principled, honourable, noble, trustworthy, upright and dignified.
"Working with Boys is a whole-school, iterative programme of study that uses guided reflection to empower boys to self-regulate their attitudes and behaviour."
Year 4 learnt the importance of clear and precise recipe writing in their English lesson on Tuesday!
🍞The lesson started by following a very basic recipe. This recipe had missing steps, unclear instructions, and parts that didn’t even make sense. Safe to say, things did NOT go to plan. There was a lot of confusion and some very questionable creations!
🍕But then we tried again with a clear, detailed recipe — and what a difference! 🙌 The step-by-step instructions, precise measurements, and helpful structure meant we could follow along confidently, and the results were (thankfully!) much more successful. We are now ready to create our own recipes this week!
Messy? Yes. Fun? Definitely. A great learning experience? Absolutely!
Weston Green was awash with colour today as the children were invited to wear something representing their House colour.
🧠 As part of a new initiative introduced by our House Captains, today our children took part in the WG Elimination Games! Year 6 delivered a quiz to each House to see who could answer the most questions correctly in the shortest time.
🌮 At lunchtime, the children sat with their House-mates for some different dynamics and cross-year group conversation.
🏆 In the coming days, the children will move into the elimnation round and determine a winning House! At the end of each term, the House with the most House Points is awarded the coveted Harvey Cup.
Last week our school`s Art Pod group went on a special trip to Clarendon Fine Art Gallery in Weybridge.
🖼 We had the opportunity to look around at the work on display and to talk about the work with Kevin the manager. 🛠 He explained how some of the art work had been created and the tools used by the artists. 🖍The children then used the art that inspired them to create their own sketches.
In their upcoming Art Pod sessions, the children are going to create their own piece of art based on the work we saw in the gallery. These pieces will then be displayed at the gallery on Saturday 9th May.
Art Pod is our invitational group for our pupils who show particular talent and dedication to art. They attend weekly sessions with our Head of Art to refine their skills and dive deeper into techniques learned during lessons. These children often build towards scholarship applications to senior schools in Year 6.
Thank you to Kevin @clarendonfineartofficial #Weybridge for welcoming us to the gallery. We can`t wait to see our work on display!

We had such a great time at our first ever soft play group last week!
Our brilliant new equipment was enjoyed by some lovely littlies, who wasted no time in exploring the ball pit, sliding over the curvy rainbow and creating some brilliant obstacle courses. Their grown-ups even managed a drink and a natter while Mrs Ranger played entertainer- perfect!
If you and your little one are looking for a Wednesday morning activity, why not join us this week 9am-10am for some more fun and games?
Sessions are free but please book via our website. 🔗 link in bio
🌳🌷☀️COME OUTSIDE! ☀️🌷🌳 The focus in our nursery this half term is the great outdoors.
Our children spend a lot of time outdoors (not only in the nice weather!) and this week they took a deeper dive into some of our spring blossoms and lavender.
👃Our fantastic early years team put together some wonderful tuff trays to help the children explore some spring-time textures and smells.
🗣️The children were eager to explain how to prepare a plant pot for a new plant!
🌱 They loved this calm and creative activity in the spring sunshine.

In our final instalment of 11+ results, we are looking at the wider benefits.
For the vast majority of children, the 11+ process is a positive experience where they gain skills and understanding that prepares them for senior school and beyond.
At Weston Green, we also ensure our Year 6 pupils continue to benefit from their time at Prep School, even after the result of their exams are in. Our post exam curriculum is bursting with exciting opportunities for the children to expand their understanding of real-world scenarios and build upon skills found outside the classroom.
Our aim for every Weston Green pupil is that they leave us at the end of Year 6 feeling fully prepared for the next stage of their lives.
Last Friday saw the launch of our latest SkillQuest theme: Behind the Scenes!
🐛Wasting no time at all, Year 3 took a deep dive into the life cycle of a caterpillar and studied the processes of metamorphosis.
🦋Fascinated by the way a caterpillar transforms into a nutrient rich `goo` the children then stepped out into the lovely spring sunshine for a bug hunt.
🪵They found plenty of natural habitat around the school grounds and ticked off many of the bugs on their list.
Our aim is to provide children with opportunities to achieve their academic potential within an environment where they feel valued, fulfilled, confident and emotionally secure.
